I think it is time for us to start now at learning how to do face-offs after an icing, offsides and at the start of each shift.  I am going to instruct the refs to make sure at each shift change they are standing at the faceoff dot we are to go to in order to make it easier for everyone to see.

Why am I doing this now?

  1. it is sooo dangerous at the shift change especially with new people.  This doesn't mean we shift slowly ladies.  The refs will give us the standard 8 to 10 seconds to get to the faceoff.
  2. no one has a clear understanding of when to "attack" when the puck is turned over to the other team.  This will eliminate it.
  3. this will eliminate the knocking the puck to the other end just before your shift change.

Ladies, it is going to take a couple of times to get better at it but I think we have enough beginners that have played the game with faceoffs to know and instruct anyone new where to go.

Take the time before the game starts to ask your captain or co-captain for help.

Again, the refs will be instructed to help.  :)
